Mike Knapp

Mike has a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology from Stanford University where he was trained in molecular genetics while studying the genes that code for antibody molecules. He was on the research staff of the Center for Neurobiology and Behavior at Columbia University for 2 years, then spent most of his career as a scientist and executive at small technology companies in the San Francisco Bay area working in genetics, microfluidics, and nanotechnology. He is now a Venture Partner associated with ARCH Venture Partners and advises early stage companies on technology, business, and venture finance. Mike and his wife Rossi moved to Bainbridge Island in 2015.

Sonia Scaer
Sonia is a software implementations and deployment analyst for GE Healthcare. She received her BA/BS degree from The Evergreen State College. She began her career as a software developer working in an FDA regulated software development environment. She successfully lead cross-functional, co-located and remote teams as a Technical Engineering Manager and Risk Management Engineering Lead. Today she works with global software delivery teams throughout the world setting standards for implementation of hospital asset management systems.

Michael Cox

Michael Cox holds a BS from Huxley College at Western Washington University and a MPH from the University of Michigan. He is currently the climate change adviser for EPA's Region 10 office in Seattle. His main tasks are to help EPA programs integrate climate change into how they do their work and coordinate efforts with EPA partners. Michael worked in Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer and then with UNICEF for over five years. He has worked in the environmental field for over 25 years with the US Environmental Protection Agency, the National Wildlife Federation, and the City of Seattle. His past work included working on issues related to toxics in the Columbia River, toxics and nutrients in Puget Sound, nitrate contamination in groundwater and drinking water in Yakima County, toxic contamination in the Great Lakes, and several National Drinking Water regulations.
